Here at Little BigPaw we are absolutely passionate about sourcing and using the very best ingredients in all of our foods. All of our ingredients are entirely natural.

Our expert nutritionists take great care to find ingredients that are not only Big on taste but also Big on providing optimum nutrition to keep your pet in the very best condition.

At Little BigPaw the priority is health and nutritional value of your furry friend but never at the expense of taste! We are also very aware of a tendency for some pets to have allergic reactions to some ingredients such as wheat and grains so our delicious wet foods and treats are totally grain free.

We aim to use single source meats in our foods so all are products are hypoallergenic; particularly with wet foods this is something that often cannot be claimed. This makes our recipes better suited to a pet’s natural digestive system and minimises the risks of an allergic reaction for your pet.

Fresh British Meat

Turkey

We use lots of fresh turkey, which is highly nutritious, easily digestible lean meat. Turkey is low in fat, and regular consumption can lower cholesterol levels. It is also a good source of iron, zinc and potassium. Turkey contains the amino acid tryptophan which plays an important role in strengthening the immune system.

Chicken

We use lots of fresh chicken. It’s a fantastic source of protein making it a great source of energy too. Chicken is a lean protein and is an easily digestible meat source. It contains vitamins, minerals and amino acids which promote good health and boosts immune systems.

Duck

We use loads of tender fresh duck, which is highly nutritious, easily digestible and low in fat. Duck is high in niacin, a vitamin which plays a vital role in metabolising fats in the body which lowers cholesterol. It is also rich in iron which regulates numerous metabolic activities and helps promote cell growth.

Salmon

Delicious Salmon from the Atlantic Ocean is highly nutritious, easily digested and rich in Omega oils. Omega 3 improves brain and eye function. Salmon is rich in selenium and promotes healthy skin, hair, nails and bones. A rich salmon diet can also improve joint mobility and help prevent heart disease.

Tuna

Tasty tuna is another health boosting ingredient used in our recipes. It is full of essential omega 3 fatty acids which can promote a healthy heart. Tuna is also an excellent source of vitamins B3, B6 and B12.

Ocean Fish

We use Ocean Fish as it is such a lean source of protein, with little calories and barely any fat. Perfect for a pet that may need to lose a few pounds. Full of essential omega 3 oils and Vitamin D and B12 which help to support healthy skin, heart and joints.

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables+

Apples

Full of antioxidants and Vitamin A and C. Vitamin A is great for immune health and skin condition whilst Vitamin C is strongly believed to help with degenerative conditions such as joint disease.

Blueberries

This little berry is packed full of health benefits. Blueberries are beneficial to heart health, contain fibre, potassium, folate, Vitamin C and more health benefiting properties.

Broccoli

A wonder veg for dogs! Broccoli can aid in fighting infections, provide a boost to the heart and treat skin conditions.

Carrots

Carotene provides natural health benefits as well as being a treasure trove of natural sugars and nutrients.

Courgette

A superfood, Courgettes are very low in calories but high in fibre helping to improve dogs stool movements.

Cranberries

Aid the urinary tract health helping to fight and prevent against bladder infections. These little berries are particularly beneficial to felines who can be prone to suffering with urinary tract infections.

Green Beans

The super green! Packed full of fibre, this vegetable also contributes protein to the diet as well as being a great source of calcium and iron.

Green Peas

A great green vegetable providing slow release energy, soluble protein and phytonutrients.

Mixed Peppers

Peppers are high in vitamin C and act as fantastic anti oxidant and anti–inflammatory. Perfect for even the most delicate of tummies!

Gently Steamed Potatoes

A great energy giving carbohydrate as well as providing natural Vitamin B; low in fat too. We cook all our ingredients gently to lock in the taste and nutritional value.

Sweet Potatoes

One of the best carbohydrates around! Low in fat but high in nutrients. Sweet potatoes are great for digestive health; they are high in fibre and contain vitamin B6, Vitamin C and manganese. For cats, they also help to ease the passage of hairballs.

Pumpkin

A fantastic source of fibre that not only aid digestive health but also is full of essential fatty acids and antioxidants.

Botanical Herbs+

Basil

A natural pre-biotic to promote healthy bacteria, improve circulation, and provide all round protection at the cellular level. Basil is known to help with arthritic conditions and the high levels of beta – caryophyllene protect against bowel disease. It is also claimed that basil can produce calming effects in stressed or excited pets.

Dried Chicory Root

Full of fibre, Dried Chicory root also has anti-inflammatory properties, aids gut health and is known to protect the liver.

Dried Nettle

Super nutritious and rich in protein. Dried nettle is also high in Vitamins A, C, K and B. This herb works as an energy booster, coat conditioner and helps to maintain the liver, glands and nervous system.

Dried Parsley

Works very well to soothe a pet’s stomach and digestive system. And can also help to improve smelly breath!

Dried Rosehip

Added to our recipes for its Vitamin C properties. Rosehip contains seeds of the rose plant which makes it a fantastic herb to provide immune system support.

Dried Rosemary

Contains antioxidants and is also known to improve brain function, recall abilities and be a general mood booster!

Green Tea

Another great anti-oxidant. We add Green tea as it is known to enhance flavour and even improve dog’s breath.

Kelp

Is a natural product that regulates digestion and is a rich source of organic minerals. It is rich in iron and other minerals which help keep your pet’s glandular system, particularly the thyroid, adrenal and pituitary glands in healthy working order.

Mannanoligosaccharides

This might be hard to pronounce but it certainly is good for your dog. Helping to give an added boost to the immune system this natural supplement particularly improves stomach health.

Marigold

Traditionally used to fight all kinds of illnesses and ailments. Marigold provides a boost to all major organs as well as improving skin condition.

Yucca Extract

Full of Vitamin C, beta-Carotene (a powerful antioxidant), calcium and protein. It’s also great for improving skin and coat condition.

Coconut Oil

An ultimate superfood! Coconut Oil is known to greatly improve joint, skin and coat condition. It also works as a great support for the digestive system, immune system as well as supporting bone, brain and eye development.

Flax Seed Oil

Packed full of healthy omega 3 fatty acids great for skin, coat and joint condition. Perfect for the older dog or dogs with a dry or itchy coat.

Green Lipped Mussel

These are rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and minerals which makes them great for skin, coat and joint health. And particularly beneficial for dogs with stiff joints or arthritis. They are also full of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, the list goes on… A truly fantastic ingredient for all dogs’ health!

Salmon Oil

Packed with natural Omega 3 & 6 Oils which will give your pet a beautiful glossy coat and excellent skin. Salmon Oil contains high levels of these natural oils which are also known to hydrate dry itchy skin, aid joint mobility and soothe cracked paws.

Sunflower Oil

A natural source of antioxidants and B-complex vitamins. Sunflower oil can improve heart health, boost energy, strengthen the immune system and reduce inflammation.

Glucosamine

Well known for its anti-inflammatory effects. Glucosamine helps to keep joints supple and healthy. The perfect addition to the diet for any dog’s who suffer from stiffness or joint problems.

Chondroitin Sulphate

Working in partnership with Glucosamine, this helps to support healthy cartilage. It’s particularly beneficial for dogs with arthritis.

MSM

This is an organic sulphur that is renowned for its benefits to joint health. It’s also full of an array of vitamins including A, C, D and E. It’s widely believed MSM can also benefit diabetic dogs as the sulphur is a component of Insulin that can aid how the body digests carbohydrates.
